Hello, my name is Danialle Wanner, and I am the owner of Howlin’ Hands Clay Studio
in Williamson Valley . I am a certified art teacher of 13 years with all ages and abilities, a mother of two, and I am passionate about doing and teaching visual art, especially clay!   I am currently teaching ceramic lessons privately for any age, at Prescott Valley Parks and Recreation, and I am opening all –day summer fine art camp in Chino Valley .   I am very excited to be able to bring more art to the families of the quad city area!

A number of students without previous experience in clay feel that they are not going to have fun or be successful in an art class because they do not have talent.   I would like to tell you all that although some people appear to just be blessed with art skill, it is actually a learnable skill, and has more to do with the desire to learn than talent.   I also believe that even though not every piece comes out as expected, that all of the fun and experience of learning makes a student feel that much prouder of a good art creation.   In my opinion, art is a bunch of tricks that one learns to master, just like math, science, music or learning a language.

Before I had a family, I taught children at an inner-city residential school in Pennsylvania .   I also sold pottery at seasonal festivals.   The first kiln I had was broken when I bought it, so I spent over a year struggling with learning how to get my idea out.   We eventually moved to Arizona , and now after along haul, the process of creating pottery is now natural.   But again, it took a long time to get there!   I believe that it’s all of the blood, sweat and tears of getting to that point that makes one’s artwork that much more valuable, make’s one that much prouder of their accomplishments.
